Guam is a year-round destination thanks to its tropical climate, but weather patterns can affect travel experiences. Please be aware the typhoon season runs from June through December.

Spring

The best time to experience the culture of Guam is in March, when locals are celebrating Mes Chamorro, Guam's History and Heritage month. April-June are usually less crowded.

Summer

Summer has it's pros and cons. Being peak rainy season, you'll probably have some showers on your trip. But the island also celebrates Guam Liberation Day in July, which is another great time to experience the culture.

Fall

As the tail end of typhoon season, it'll still be pretty normal to have rain on your trip. But if rain doesn't dissuade you, Fall is an amazing time of year to visit.

Winter

This is the most popular time to visit Guam, with sunny weather and lower rainfall. This is considered the "dry season." Since Guam is a tropical island, you'll still expect mild-to-warm temperatures, too.

Fun fact!

I was born on Guam! That’s why I’m so passionate about encouraging more travelers to visit the island.

Answers to Your Questions about Guam

If you’re planning a trip to Guam, you may have questions about travel requirements, the best time to visit, and what to do on the island. These FAQs cover the essentials to help you plan your Guam vacation.

Got a question?

I get it. Travel can be intimidating. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Do you need a passport to go to Guam?

Nope! Guam is a U.S. Territory, just like Puerto Rico. If you are a U.S. citizen, you will not require a passport or a visa to go to Guam.

Most travelers spend 4–5 days in Guam, which provides enough time to explore the island’s beaches, cultural sites, and outdoor activities while also enjoying some relaxation time.

Popular things to do in Guam include snorkeling in Tumon Bay, visiting Two Lovers Point, exploring War in the Pacific National Historical Park, shopping at Chamorro Village’s Wednesday night market, and relaxing at the island’s beautiful beaches.

As far as nightly hotel rates go, Guam is cheaper than popular destinations like Miami, French Polynesia, or Hawaii. Depending on where you’re traveling from, the flights can increase your travel costs significantly.

English and Chamorro are the official languages of Guam, and English is widely spoken across the island. You will also find some support for Japanese and Korean in the more heavily tourist areas.
